Who? An Arabian Knights
Race Team member
represents the one out of ten successful candidates who interviewed for
an open team position. All of our members are intermediate level riders
with a need for speed. We are committed to improving both ourselves and
our horses for endurance racing.
What? We are a small group
of
compassionate and committed riders working to give our horses a home
for the rest of their lives. We donate all the proceeds of our
fund raising efforts to Adopt-A-Horse, Inc. for the care of our family
of critters.
Our Arabian horses are a great group
of well
trained and dynamic endurance racing horses. Our ponies are training
for the 25 mile limited distance event with the smaller adults and
junior riders. The kids can't lie around the pasture; they need to go
to work to feed themselves. We train together with our horses routinely
to make them act like good kids in a nice restaurant.
When? Race team members ride
by
appointment only. Our riding times are coordinated with a
representative of Adopt-A-Horse which provides for the daily care and
maintenance of our horses. Riding times are normally adjusted
for
both seasonal and individual training schedules. In the
summertime, we ride in the early morning or late afternoon
hours.
In the wintertime, we tend to ride in the middle of the
afternoon. Other ride times are available but the speed and
intensity can be altered for weather conditions.
Where? We ride our horses on
a 1400 acre
endurance training facility in Covington, Ga. In addition to our home
training facility, we trailer our horses to a number of venues both in
and outside of Georgia. Some of the nearby venues include
Kennesaw Battle Monument, Hard Labor Creek Park, the International
Horse
Park, Berry College, the Chattahoochee National Forest, Biltmore
Estates, and the beaches of Amelia Island. Race team members
also
ride at organized endurance racing events throughout the Southeast.
Adopt-A-Horse transports our horses to
the
various venues. We can contract with a professional
transportation firm to move our horses to any of the venues noted
above. A transportation surcharge is assessed for all transportation
off our primary training facility.
Why? All these
horses and ponies
are used for therapy work when not being used by the race team members.
We support local non profit organizations helping children.
We
offer our horses to other organizations to help with their clients
horse exposure or fund raising efforts. Organizations seeking
horses or ponies to enhance their missions can contact us at:
